About

Stuart M. Perkins is originally from Richmond, Virginia. He enjoys relating observations of daily life and recollections of growing up in a large family surrounded by cousins and animals. Everyday experiences often carry great messages. Layers of ordinary reality can be peeled back to reveal the genuinely humorous or poignant themes buried in common daily events.

Life is full of “mini-scenarios”, each hiding an interesting story. Peeling back, or shucking the obvious from the situation to reveal the entertaining story beneath is what Stuart enjoys most. Shucking the story from the facts.

Storyshucker.

Stuart currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia.

  24. Hi Stuart. I am writing to you to firstly say i am a big fan of your site. I think your posts are very thought-provoking and a very interesting read.

I came across some of your writing after you liked something on my blog: theprestopost.com

I have recently created the site in which we post material on all things about life. There is a blog section, as well as content on business, nutrition, fitness, philosophy, education, happiness, tech and so on. I want it to be an international hub of fascinating reads material and resources. A global platform that delivers powerful information to readers, and one that anyone can benefit from. Videos, media and guest blogs from opinionated, interesting people. I also have plans to develop some sort of discussion function and a news feature. Think the Huffington Post, but better. A cleaner look, a more easier but equally-valuable content and focused almost exclusively on the readers.

If you are an avid reader, i also have a book section, in which we will discuss books, review them and dissect ideas past, present and future.

I believe, and you may or may not agree, that if everyone could read a little more, understand our purpose in life a little better and do what they genuinely love to do – the world would be a better place. And that is the mission of this site – To connect people and share knowledge for the benefit of the one family that lives under the skies.

Back to the reason i am writing to you then, i would like you to contribute to my site in some way. And it can be any format you like, e.g., a weekly blog, book review, daily thoughts, short pieces, or anything that interests you. Life, health and fitness are probably my biggest passions and it is going to be a big part of the future. It is currently one of, if not the biggest trend and is growing rapidly. As with reading, i think if the global population could just understand a little more about food exercise and training, we would eradicate many illnesses and move the human race forward 10x fold. The only thing that is holding us back, is this lack of knowledge. But when i think about health and fitness, i also see the mind as part of this. That is, the habits we have, thoughts and what we do on a daily basis all links to health in the end. The mind really is everything and i think it is best described in a simple little equation: Input = Output . I am an avid student of philosophy, the body and thinking – which is what attracted me to your site; I love your writing style and your method of story-telling. You capture the readers attention in a way that so many writers struggle to do.

If you have a few moments please take a look a the site ( link at bottom) and scroll down down the page. Also take a look at some of the categories. This, i hope will give you an idea.

Here are some of the most popular articles that best reflect what i’m trying to do here:

Also check out our ‘RePressed’ section: http://prestopost.org/category/repressed/ This is where we share our favourite articles, what we’re reading and any other interesting things from the web, we then link it back to the source.

The site is currently not generating any profit, but as it gets bigger i will utilise ads that are specific to the customer, maybe even ask our readers to choose the ads.

I think if we can collaborate together and promote each other, it is a win-win not for us, but for our readers.

I look forward to your reply and very much hope you can become part of this special project.

Thanks so much for your time,
 Jai

I have between 20 to 25 of clother, towels, and dome toys. I would like to know if someone would be willing to come to the Poconos to pick them up? I guess I need to know how I can get the boxes to the Appalachian people. I also have bikes. My e-mail address is wandstaples@gmail.com. Thanks for your help. Wanda

    • That is go great that you’re willing to help people. We just don’t do it anymore. Some of my friends moved and one passed away and we just could no longer do it. But I am sure there’s someone near you, a local place, who would love to take those things. Good for you for helping out!

  37. I love your stories. Please keep on writing them.

  38. Thanks for liking my post. Always enjoy your stories.

  47. Hi Stuart
I like your site and love the idea of ‘shucking’ the fun out of everyday situations. I had not come across this term before. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for following. I look forward to getting to connecting with you through the blog world, reading more of your poetry and thoughts, and hope that you find something interesting enough on my site to keep coming back.
    Have a wonderful week 😊

  48. our story about the Roses and your G’Ma really gripped my heart. My Grandmother (MaryJane Lewis) was also an avid garden-grower and she definitely had a Major Green-thumb for any kind of a plant, whether it be in her home, or outside planted in her sunny yard.

This reading brought-back many days of seeing Grandma prune and fuss with her roses and other flowers and tend to her meticulous garden(s). “Thanks for the walk don memory lane!” It was nostalgic!!

    Respectfully,

    Jennifer Lewis
